As a devoted father, son, brother, and husband, Efrain’s presence was a steady and grounding force in the lives of those around him.

Efrain’s life was defined by the love he carried for his family, especially his son, Efrain Fraire III, whom he adored deeply. He took immense pride in being a father, offering guidance, encouragement, and a loyal example of what it means to live with integrity and compassion. His role as a brother was equally meaningful. The bond between siblings is one of life’s most enduring connections, and his family expresses that even in death, that bond remains unbroken. The memories shared, the laughter echoed, and the love exchanged will continue to live on in their hearts forever.

The Cache Valley community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of two young lives, 17-year-old CJ Fiefia of Avon and 14-year-old Xylie Hutchinson of Hyrum, who tragically passed away following a devastating car accident on November 22, 2025. What began as an ordinary evening for a group of friends has become an unimaginable tragedy that has deeply affected families, classmates, teammates, and friends across the valley.

Xylie Hutchinson was a bright and beloved presence within the Cache Valley Hockey community. Known for her determination on the ice and her generous, uplifting spirit off of it, she made a profound impact on everyone she met. As a fierce defender for the Cache Valley Wild high school team and a dedicated member of an all-girls team, Xylie played with passion, energy, and heart. She also served the sport she loved as a young official, contributing meaningfully to the growth of girls’ and youth hockey in Northern Utah. Her absence will be felt deeply, and her legacy will endure through the many young athletes she inspired.

Those who knew Xylie speak of her warmth, her joy, and the light she carried with her. The memories she created—laughter shared, friendships formed, and moments of genuine kindness—will remain treasured by all who loved her. Dan Sellers—beloved teacher, mentor, coach, and the iconic voice of Game Day—passed away this afternoon while supporting the Martians, a place and a program he cherished deeply. His sudden loss has left a profound void in the hearts of all who knew him.

For decades, Dan Sellers embodied the very spirit of Goodrich athletics and education. More than an announcer, he was a trusted mentor and a dedicated leader who gave wholeheartedly to his students and athletes. His enthusiasm for Goodrich Football, along with his unwavering support for every young person who walked the halls of Goodrich Area Schools, set him apart as an extraordinary figure in our community. Whether celebrating victories or lifting spirits during challenging moments, Dan exemplified what it truly means to be a Martian—steadfast, compassionate, and committed.

His influence stretched far beyond the press box. Dan served the district in numerous roles, including basketball coach, JV football coach, and classroom educator. His love of the game and devotion to his students resonated through every practice, every lesson, and every game he announced. The sound of his voice energized Friday nights, but the impact of his presence reached even farther. Those fortunate enough to learn from him, play for him, or work alongside him carry with them the lessons of integrity, perseverance, and community that he consistently modeled.

Dan’s life reflected a deep connection to the places and people who shaped him. A graduate of Brandon High School, a student of Oakland University, and a resident of Otisville, Michigan, he brought pride, loyalty, and heart to everything he touched. His contributions to Goodrich athletics—both on the sidelines and behind the microphone—will remain an enduring part of the school’s legacy.
