A procession honoring Tyler will take place today, beginning at MD Anderson Cancer Center and continuing along US 90A to Rosenberg, where he will be brought home with the respect and reverence he so deeply earned.

Surrounded by the compassionate care of Hospice and Carteret House, Stevie entered the loving arms of his Lord and Savior with grace, courage, and unwavering faith. His passing leaves an emptiness felt deeply by those who knew him, loved him, and shared life’s happiest moments beside him.

Stevie Levy was more than a musician—he was a unifying force. Known affectionately as “Showboat,” he drew people together effortlessly. Many who first met as strangers became lifelong friends through Stevie’s warm spirit, humor, and infectious love of music and community. He had a rare gift for making every person feel like family, and as many have lovingly said, he turned acquaintances into “cousins of the One and Only Showboat.” His presence brought joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories, sprinkled at times with the playful mischief that only Stevie could deliver.

A proud alumnus of Northeast High School in Durham and a longtime resident of Newport and Atlantic Beach, Stevie embraced life with enthusiasm, kindness, and an unmistakable charm. Whether he was singing, dancing, storytelling, or simply sharing a meal at his favorite local spots, Stevie made ordinary moments extraordinary. Those who traveled, laughed, and spent countless hours with him—whether on cruises, at concerts, or during long phone conversations—will forever treasure the time they shared.

Stevie faced his final months with remarkable strength and deep faith in God. His courage was an inspiration to all who witnessed his journey, reminding friends and loved ones of the resilience found in a life anchored in love and faith.
