His passing leaves an emptiness felt deeply by those who knew him, loved him, and shared life’s happiest moments beside him.
Stevie Levy was more than a musician—he was a unifying force. Known affectionately as “Showboat,” he drew people together effortlessly. Many who first met as strangers became lifelong friends through Stevie’s warm spirit, humor, and infectious love of music and community. He had a rare gift for making every person feel like family, and as many have lovingly said, he turned acquaintances into “cousins of the One and Only Showboat.” His presence brought joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories, sprinkled at times with the playful mischief that only Stevie could deliver.
A proud alumnus of Northeast High School in Durham and a longtime resident of Newport and Atlantic Beach, Stevie embraced life with enthusiasm, kindness, and an unmistakable charm.
